On this  same note: There is a movie I watched on Netflix Instant called 
American  Violet (2008). It is excellent and is the story
of Tulia, Texas,  although the name of the town in the movie has been 
changed. Without the work  of the ACLU, black residents
had no hope of justice, were thrown in jail  for years - on trumped up 
charges, because the DA was racist and could get  away with it.
I urge anyone interested in social justice to watch this  film.

(fortunately, I do : )  try requesting it at your local library  (I work there & will 
put in a request myself)
