Yesterday Donald Trump did what I thought was unthinkable, and officially  
nominated ExxonMobil's CEO Rex Tillerson to be the next US Secretary of  
State. 
Thank you for signing our petition opposing Tillerson. As you know,  Exxon 
has a long history of funding climate denial and committing human rights  
abuses, which is why we can't have them in charge of our foreign  policy.  
So we're pulling together a massive grassroots response to push back  
against Tillerson, and all of Trump’s climate denying nominees. It  starts next 
Tuesday when we're rallying at transition headquarters in  Washington, DC to 
send the message that we all oppose Trump's radical  anti-science, 
pro-fossil fuel nominees.

As Secretary of State, Tillerson would oversee everything from negotiating  
international climate agreements to reviewing the Keystone XL pipeline. 
Along  with Tillerson, Donald Trump has nominated climate deniers across the 
board,  including for the EPA, Secretary of Interior, and Department of 
Energy.   
Here's our plan to stop the Climate Denier Cabinet: 
    *   Between now and Tuesday, make as much noise as we can, so that we 
can  deliver a big message to his transition headquarters.  
    *   January 3rd, the first day that the new Senate takes office, make  
thousands of phone calls to every Senator telling them to vote against the  
Denier Cabinet.  
    *   The following week, take to the streets in all 50 states to oppose 
their  nominations.  
    *   Fill the digital airwaves with ads calling out Senators who say 
they  agree with climate science, but still support Trump’s climate denying  
cabinet.  
    *   Fight like hell at every stage - we’re not going to make his  job 
easy. 
Washington needs to see that the majority of people in this country oppose  
Trump’s reckless agenda, and that a vote for his nominees is a vote for  
climate denial.
